I've written before that using blog software as the foundation for a winery Web site seems like a not-bad idea.
Someone much smarter than me (he has a Ph.D. from MIT) agrees: Weblog as Website for the Small Organization
(I also found his article on how the Web and, later, blogs have changed writing to be a thoughtful piece)
I just converted Casa Nuestra's static site over to Wordpress:
http://www.casanuestra.com
Some of the sections are post-based but most are just pages. I think a lot of wineries will choose open source CMS software and convert from existing static sites. The key is to have the control to post content in the hands of the winery and not the "web guy." More content will be posted on a timely basis as a result.
