New Winery Blog: Wilma's Wine World
New for 2008 is the Dry Creek Vineyard blog, written by Kim Stare Wallace: Wilma's Wine World. (Kim's nickname is "Wilma."):
This is a blog about what it's really like to be in the wine industry...so sit back, take a sip and enjoy!
Encouraged to write by Jim Loube of Wine Spectator, Kim/Wilma has been blogging since January from the frank and humorous perspective of someone in the industry (a second-generation winery owner -- her father, Dave Stare, founded Dry Creek). Her posts remind me of Mary Baker's Dover Canyon blog (which was an American Wine Blog finalist in 2007).
Dry Creek Vineyard is promoting the blog on their Web site, which is a good thing to do. It's interesting to compare the somewhat "refined" feel of the Web site with the more approachable and authentic feel of Kim's blog. A good example of what a blog can add to your winery's marketing approach.
Kim is posting about once a week, and I recommend you subscribe. I'm a bit late to the party on this blog, as no less than Tom Wark of Fermentation called it out earlier this year. Of course, I've added it to The List, our comprehensive listing of winery blogs.
