Does your winery have 1,000 true fans?

Part of my job here is to let winery folks know about interesting-but-relevant thoughts from non-winery folks.  Kevin Kelly's article, 1,000 True Fans, is one of those.

One thousand is a feasible number. You could count to 1,000. If you added one fan a day, it would take only three years. True Fanship is doable. Pleasing a True Fan is pleasurable, and invigorating. It rewards the artist to remain true, to focus on the unique aspects of their work, the qualities that True Fans appreciate.

Worth reading.

hey - An interesting point - Does your wine club count as "true fans"? Does that fact that they let you "push" wine at them count? I have some *serious* fans in my club that will buy a *lot* of wine, but even they won't buy everything I make...

Good point. The fans are hard to please!
