I was listening to an online video (about setting up membership/subscription sites, not really appropriate for my winery readers), and one suggestion they made when researching market potential was to see how many magazines pertained to the topic at Magazines.com (a site where you can subscribe to magazines).
There are 6 results when searching for "wine": Food & Wine, The Quarterly Review of Wines, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Press Northwest, and WineMaker. Notably absent are Wines & Vines and Wine Advocate.
There are exactly zero results, however, when searching for "winery".
I'm just sayin'.
Seems to be missing the trades, for example Practical Winery and Vineyard, or Vineyard and Winery Management...

Sounds like a niche ( and not a gaping void) - I'm guessing you're part of http://www.membershipsiteowner.com - very good stuff there.

Pet Peeves!! Mine is how to contact a blogger when they hide, don't show, don't offer a email address.
I think our new website offers a lot and yet it's odd how many blog sites don't seem interested in getting some straight feedback or in our case, an introduction to a valid partner in the wine world. Sheeesh.
