Mary Baker added a long and informative comment to my original post, Building Excitement, which talked about how blogging the inventory levels of her various fast-selling/limited-production wines increases sales velocity by building excitement.
As I said in an e-mail reply to Mary, another answer is just an RSS feed for "things we're running out of". For example, the feed would be updated anytime a vintage got down to 10% remaining (or some other arbitrary level).
The best thing about doing this blog is that it puts me in touch with all the smart winery people out there who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. Mary is smart. Go read her comment. And feel free to add some of your own.
Hi Mike! Through taking adavntage of my curiosity by checking my blog's site meter, I saw that you had stopped by to take a look. Unfortunately, I'm just an amateur home winemaker, so I hope it didn't waste your time too much!
I'm also a member of an online Forum called Winepress (http://www.winepress.us) which has mostly amateur winemakers like myself as members, but also a few commercial winemakers - most of them smaller. I posted a link to this blog and recommended this and the WWSR to any of the commercial people there.
Just thought I'd drop by and let you know!
